Staying in Place (SiP)
Getting some help at home can enable you to continue to live independently in your own home for as long as possible.
If you are over 65, or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander over 50, you could be eligible for a Home Care Package funded by the Australian Government. A little support can lead to a much better life.
Help at home looks different for different people. It may mean getting help with shopping, cleaning, gardening and cooking. Or it could be receiving personal care to bath, dress, and get in and out of bed. It may even mean getting modifications to improve your safety and movement around the house.
Staying in Place (SiP) gives seniors assistance to stay living independently in their own homes for longer. SiP is funded by Home Care Packages, federal funds allocated through an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
In the SiP model, InCasa (the provider) accesses these funds for the client, Mable (the employment platform) bills InCasa for work done and pays workers, and the Broome Community Resource Centre (community manager) links clients with workers.
Using a local workforce means clients spend less money on management fees and travel costs, giving more money to spend on services.
Support workers can choose to supplement their income with a few hours of employment here and there, or choose to work more hours with more clients - the choice is yours!
